New Distribution deal for leading "Teachers Choice" Longman GCSE Product - now available in the High Street.

GCSE students who used the newly launched Multimedia CD ROM Longman Inside Track to GCSE Success to increase their exam grades during revision can now buy it in the High Street.

Logotron, the UK's biggest education software publisher for schools has signed up Guildhall Leisure to handle the distribution of the suite of software titles currently in over 400 stores nation-wide!

Previously The Longman Inside Track to GCSE Success was only available in W.H Smiths but due to demand it is now available in GAME, Electronics Boutique, Toys R Us with others lined up in '98. This exciting take up of interest has resulted since the product was recently seen on BBC TV's Just one Chance with Carol Vorderman earlier last month. The 10 minute slot on BBC TV resulted in a high demand of interest in the product and has secured even more shelf space for the products.

Kieron Dear, Logotron Trade Sales Manager commented "I am very excited at the potential that Inside Track has shown in the high street, our product has already proved its worth in schools. With the product now available through major retail channels nation-wide we are pleased to offer students the chance to purchase this excellent product to help with their revision at home".

Guildhall's Managing Director, Giles Hunter said "The interest in Inside Track has really escalated since we took on the product and we are proud to have been offered the chance to promote it. We are currently working on ensuring that the product is available in all good games stores."He then added, I seriously think that if students are dedicated to increasing their exam results, then Inside Track is the only product that they should be looking at using".

Inside Track to GCSE Success is the only revision product available on the market that features the S.A.M Method - Self Assessment through Marking in its titles - where students actually learn to mark their own papers in the format used by examiners. The CD ROM is available in Maths,Science (including Physics, Biology and Chemistry), English and Geography priced at £14.99 each.

The Inside Track to GCSE Success provides up to 1200 students with up to 70 hours of individualised exam revision instruction per subject, focusing primarily on examination technique. It allows students to gain insights into their own strengths and weaknesses in particular subjects, by comparing their own work with example answers produced by leading examination board examiners. (Hence the Insider Knowledge name). A likely grade for their own GCSE exam is also predicted.

For teachers, there are utilities which produce comprehensive progress and diagnostic reports on individual class groups, and give them the ability to create and print out an almost infinite number of tests, with and without sample answers, from a database of hundreds of past exam questions. These are licensed from the Northern, Midland, Oxford and Cambridge examination boards.

The software on CD-ROM provides the student with a structured revision programme in examination technique. The key lies in the company's name, in that students become privy to the "Inside Knowledge" needed for passing examinations. By enabling students to appreciate what the examiner will be looking for, the software encourages them to revise appropriately and respond to examination questions in a structured way, maximising their marks potential.

The teacher's component of the software enables the students' progress to be monitored and custom-made test papers to be constructed from the extensive bank of questions and model answers available.

Longman Logotron will also produce student editions of each of the programs, for individual home study use. These will be released in October 1996 on CD ROM.
