Why did you choose Junior Control Insight?
Junior Control Insight was highly recommended by my Local Authority for meeting the requirements of the ICT Curriculum. I had seen it demonstrated and recommended by a previous Local Authority.
Who is using Junior Control Insight?
Our Year 5 and 6 pupils are using it; also our gifted and talented pupils.
What curriculum areas and/or objectives does Junior Control Insight support in your school/organisation?
The software is used to meet the ICT objectives for Control and also for consolidating Science revision for our Year 6 pupils in their work on Circuits.
In your opinion, does Junior Control Insight support the development of learners’ higher order skills such as thinking & problem solving skills?
I think that Junior Control Insight is excellent for promoting thinking skills and problem solving skills. It teaches the children perseverance and also teaches them how to use methods such as trial and error.
What do pupils think about Junior Control Insight?
Pupils enjoy the challenge afforded by Junior Control Insight. When they are successful, they appreciate how hard they had to work to achieve their success.
How has Junior Control Insight supported your teaching?
Using Junior Control Insight has resulted in the children being challenged and I have been able to easily provide differentiated tasks.
How would you say Junior Control Insight enhances learners’ experience?
The children are engaged for the whole time that they are using the programme. They get a very good understanding of the Control element of the ICT Curriculum.
Future Plans for using Junior Control Insight?
We now plan to develop a number of projects, as the programme becomes established in the school.
